Thought’s from our Pastor

We ‘re glad that you have stopped by to learn what we’re all about. We hope you see our passion for Jesus and His gospel. He is the only reason that we do what we do.
Growing up in the 60’s and 70’s, I entered into my adult years with a negative stigma about Church.  The Church traditions, the do/DON’T DO list, the view of the hypocrite christian, everyone looks the same, fake people, etc..  When I finally surrendered to Jesus Christ in my mid thirties , I realized the need of the Church, God’s word, coupled with an intimate relationship with Jesus and His body for happy healthy christian living.  I thought God had to have a sense of humor Since He called ME to be a Pastor. Carrying some of my legitimate concerns previously mentioned, I went to Baptist Bible College, because I believe in the Baptist theology.  I am still not fond of traditions; I find they prevent forward movement, growth and fruit-fullness in the Church.  Instead of seeing God’s word as a DO?DON’T DO list now, I understand it is there to show us how we ought to live, and with God’s Grace in times of failure, He restores me with the help of a HEALTHY body in the Church.   Nope, still not a fan of the cookie cutter church with hypocrites and fake Christians, however they need to be in the church also for their own salvation and growth.  It is my true desire in miles down the road of ministry here at Midway, I wish to see a congregation filled with people from all walks of life, cultures and demographics.  After all, Christ died for all, and the Church should reflect that.  Also, I pray our people can and will be genuine in their desire to grow closer to their Master and be in the church the same way they are out of the church (a sense of realness if you will.)  Will church ever be perfect?  Not on THIS earth or in this life.  I believe everyone has a closet full of hard times, hurt, embarrassing choices  and are all in need of God’s Grace and the sufficiency of His word.  I believe when a body of believers love one another and care for one another as the scriptures says: Church can and will be the best place to spend time together.
